Infographics as a Tool to Enhance Health Literacy

Posted about 8 years ago by Amelia J. Roberts BSN RN CPN

It is widely accepted that use of visuals in patient education enhances both comprehension and retention. Nurses well know the complications that can result when instructions are not clearly understood by patients. Nurse  who study the relationship between use of medical services and gaps in care can use Infographics to draw the line from Point A to Point B effectively addressing many health literacy concerns. There are many tools readily available to create Infographics of your own.

See an example of  Medical Education Infographics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
